The KTM EXC400

Though unassuming to the untrained eye, these bikes rolled out of the factory race-ready. Well… actually… they didn’t roll out of the factory—ever—they came in crates and had to be carefully assembled—a pleasure that was denied to me by the vendor.
It truly was a slap in the face when the vendor informed me that no, I could not have the bike delivered to me in a crate. They would put it together for me because I wasn’t worthy.
Alright, that wasn’t the reason they argued, it was a warranty thing. But I felt deeply wounded by the rejection, nonetheless. I would have done the job just as well and by the book, in a far more careful manner.
