Stonehenge is a mysterious monument, in Salisbury, England, built before the invention of the wheel or the construction of the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Stonehenge is as prehistoric as it gets.

Scholars agree that the monument was built and modified by different peoples over millennia.

Although many theories have been floated regarding the how, the main unanswered question remains the why.
